Story Kawsher

Kawsher is a cheerful four-year-old boy who lives with his mother in Kundoria in the municipality of Nali.

His father works as a migrant worker in Qatar, building football stadiums. Kawsher has spastic paralysis, which has caused developmental delay. He enjoyed coming to our early intervention program, but now receives support and therapy at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, Kawsher perseveres and his mother is his best therapist. He learned to walk while holding his mother’s hand, surprising his grandparents and neighbors. The cycle of negativity about Kawsher’s chances was broken and mother and son were surrounded with more love. Now that Kawsher has also learned to say ‘grandpa’, you won’t find a prouder grandfather in Kundoria.
