Story Husain

In a small bike shop in Badda we meet Husain. Proudly he sits beside his father, who sets the spokes of a rickshaw. He is 6 years old and has cerebral palsy. His mother had a prolonged and difficult delivery and Husain was born with a lack of oxygen.

When parents noticed that Husain wasn’t developing well, they borrowed 2,000 euros to get him into a hospital. The doctors promised a lot. But the medication he had to use was very expensive and at the end there was no improvement. Until this day, both parents have to work long hours to pay back their loan. Husain has no one who can bring him to school. His aunt married when she was 10 and gave birth to three great nephews with whom he likes to play, but he wants to go to school like his nephews. The community worker and physiotherapist of the Amar Joti project visit Hosain regularly and advise his parents and his aunt about the daily care.

Until he can join school, he sits in his special chair, he keeps his father company and has a lot of fun with him.
