News Learning in a relaxed and fun-filled setting

Niketan’s special education program offers thematic education to children with severe learning difficulties. It challenges pupils, builds on their abilities, and takes their disabilities into account. In doing so, we offer children the opportunity to develop to their full potential as individuals.

To relax and have fun, we organize weekly music and dance classes. Children and parents enjoy these fun-filled moments and discover that singing and dancing together is not only enjoyable, but also contributes significantly to motor development, self-confidence and social bonding. These joint activities also strengthen the bond between parent and child and allow parents to experience how valuable play and creativity are for their child’s development.

In these classes, parents learn lots of children’s songs that they can then practice with their children at home. Children enjoy the corresponding dance moves and gestures, and learn new words and movements in a relaxed setting. We see that this boosts their self-confidence and strengthens their self-image, which is particularly evident when they proudly and happily perform in front of an audience during festivities.
