NewsPassing the torch: Mellanie introduces herself as the new treasurer

My name is Mellanie, and I’m really looking forward to taking over the role of Treasurer from Saskia starting October 1.

​With great enthusiasm, I recently learned about Niketan and I must admit I was deeply impressed. The work the foundation does for children and young people with disabilities in Bangladesh is incredibly valuable and heartwarming. What immediately struck me was the personal commitment and enormous impact Niketan is making. Every child deserves the chance to develop, participate in society and build a dignified future. I find it admirable that Niketan has been making this possible in a sustainable way for thirty years.

Ready for a great collaboration

In addition to my extensive administrative and volunteer experience, I bring considerable board experience (including as Treasurer) to the role. I’m eager to combine that experience with my strong commitment to children in vulnerable situations, so I can contribute to the foundation’s work with great enthusiasm. Together with the board, I want to ensure that all donations and resources are distributed as carefully and effectively as possible to their intended recipients.

It is an honor to be part of this wonderful organization. I look forward to a fruitful collaboration with the board, the volunteers and all the donors who support Niketan.
